The Silver Creek Playground Fundraiser

Silver Creek Elementary School is a small, rural community school with a population of eighty students. As a community, we are currently in the process of fundraising to purchase new playground equipment. The wooden structures are old and have gone through several repairs over the years, enabling the students to continue to use the equipment. In October 2010, our two main playground structures did not pass a safety inspection conducted by safety officials from the school district. Due to dry-rot of several posts and failure to meet new safety standards, the equipment was deemed unsafe and has been closed to student use. The equipment will be removed from the school grounds within the next couple of weeks.
